Meghan Markle To Break Royal Protocol With Baby's Birth

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made a bit of a habit out of breaking royal traditions over the course of their relationship, and it seems the arrival of their first-born will be no different.

Sources close to the fam have told Vanity Fair that the Duchess of Sussex is planning on passing up the infamous Lindo Wing photo op after giving birth. And as Harry, William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were all snapped on the iconic steps as youngsters, this is kind of a big deal.

Instead, the couple are reportedly looking at a few different locations for delivery, including having a home birth at Frogmore Cottage (their newest residence in Windsor). But seeing as Meghan is new to motherhood (and coz her pregnancy is considered high-risk), it’s pretty likely her doctors will advise against this.

While the question of where the baby will be welcomed to the world is still up in the air, one thing is for sure: Doria Ragland (aka, Megs’ mum), will be there. According to the publication, Harry and Meghan are even toying with the idea of having her live with them fulltime.

“Doria plans to be around a lot when the baby arrives and there are plans for her to have a dedicated space at their new home,” a source told VF. “She wants to be on hand to help Meghan and Harry with the baby. Doria will be involved and if she’s involved she will be encouraging Meg to go for a natural birth.”

Guess all that’s left to do now is watch this space.
