Serena Williams Just Broke Major Protocol With Her French Open Outfit

Serena Williams is walking, talking proof that you can be a mum and a total badass too. 

Off the back of the French Open catsuit controversy of 2018 (which served a medical purpose, FYI), the tennis star has yet again ditched the traditional tennis outfit in favour of a bold Nike number.

Designed by Virgil Abloh, the look consists of a black-and-white jacket, fitted top and two skirts (one floor-length with a thigh-high split and a shorter version for games). So far, so Serena – that is, until you look a little closer: each piece has been printed with the French words for ‘Mother, Champion, Queen’ and ‘Goddess.’

To be fair, the woman could tear arm holes in a plastic bag and still look 10/10. But considering she’s practically giving the French Tennis Federation the middle finger (they changed the dress code after last year’s debacle) the Internet has a lot of opinions. Most of them good:
