Lotus is the Appropriately Cozy & Emotional Pisces Season Sex Position

As the sun continues to journey through the Zodiac calendar, so will we with our sexy recommendations for each season. As we noted last month, your own individual horoscope and your own love and sex vibes depend on your own planets in your own birth chart (think: Sun, Moon, Rising, Mars and Venus to start — then explore the eighth house if you’re feeling fiesty). We highly recommend the experience of getting your chart read by an astrologer for the full rundown of what the star says about matters of your heart and your bedroom.

Though, drawing on our knowledge of Pisces season, I do have some thoughts on the best way to make the most of this time as winter ends and spring starts to peek through (not quite the full rebirth, baby deer chaos vibes of Aries, but we’re getting there!) Some of my favorite people are Pisces — they feel so many things so deeply and wholly in a way that feels really wise and brave in a world that often wants you to squirrel those things away. They’re intense (feeling what feels like every feeling in a full-bodied way) and at times can also tip toe into the land of soft and fuzzy delusions (as planets ruled by Neptune are wont to do).

“Pisces is symbolized by two fish swimming in opposite directions, and this sums up your approach to love,” the AstroTwins write in The Complete Book of Pisces. “You’re eternally searching for a partner to provide both security and freedom, and you can be genuinely puzzled when they don’t come in one package. You can be a hardcore realist one second, then desperate to escape into a fantasy world the next.”

Since Pisces season is the end of the astrological year, we can let our hearts start thawing out, remember the things that we love and the things we want to do and be and see — and, ideally, take the time to embrace and understand what’s really in front of us. So it’s this energy — the reality and the dreamy fantasy coming together to connect — that has us recommending you enjoy the lotus position this Pisces season.

The Lotus, a chill but deeply-intimate position that prioritizes closeness is a great way to connect with your partner and engage in all the gooey, love-y behavior that this dreamy season encourages. Just have the penetrating partner sit pretzel-style and the receiving partner climb aboard and wrap your legs around them. Whether you’re using a toy or just your bodies, you can grind, move and adjust as needed while holding some sweet meaningful eye contact or swapping dirty words and kisses. Win, win, win.

The power of this position isn’t so much in how you move your bodies but in the ways you open yourself up to your partner. This mutual vulnerability and reciprocity (things that are good to keep in mind all year long) are wonderful for taking your relationship in a deeper, more meaningful direction or for injecting a bit of that soft Piscean wisdom into a love that’s been around the sun a few times.

Take time to enjoy exploring each other’s depths together this season.
