Garcelle Beauvais on Feeling Sexy in Your 50s

Garcelle Beauvais is a busy women. Not only did she make history as the first Black woman to join the cast of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” – which is not airing season 11, but she is also the new co-host of talk show “The Real” (2020), and working on her podcast “Going to Bed with Garcelle” (a fun and flirty late night podcast features no holds-barred girl talk on sex, life, dating, and relationships.)

But wait there’s more.

The 54-year-old mum-of-three is also currently working on a collaboration with Roni Blanshay jewelry, AND, releasing a memoir titled Finding My G-Spot about falling back in love with yourself, with never-before-heard stories and advice on relationships, parenting, and career.

So how, THE HECK, does she do it?

Well, according to the media queen, it’s all about finding time for yourself, no matter how sparse.

We spoke to Beauvais about how she manages to do exactly that, and maintain self-love through it all, below.

Was there ever a time when you noticed your self-love begin to slip? 

Absolutely after my divorce I really had to sit with myself and go deep and do some self-reflecting to realise that divorce does not mean failure.

Did getting older have an impact on that?

Yes, they say as you get older you get wiser which means I had to regain my self-worth and know when I walk into a room

How did you fall back in love with yourself?

When I really realise that I was enough that I am enough and I am strong resilient and I persevere no matter what.

How do you keep yourself feeling sexy as you get older?

I always feel like age is nothing but a number. I’m happy to be alive and when you come from that place.

It’s easy to appreciate yourself. Sexy to me is feeling confident in your skin.

Do you have any advice for women struggling with that?

Yes we have to start by being kind to ourselves look in the mirror find 1 or 2 things that you love about you and smile. It’s a great place to start.

What does me-time look like for you?

Me time looks like turning off the phone, lighting some candles, getting into a bath and exhaling
