Cat who looks like baby Yoda wins the internet but still doesn't have a home

Obviously the internet was made so we could enjoy looking at cat pictures and videos all day.

And we simple humans love nothing more than kitties that look kinda funny, whether it’s resembling an accordion, a flat head, or a human-like face.

But when one woman posted a picture of a cat who looked like baby Yoda, she had no idea it would blow up.

Clearly not understanding netizens’ penchant for funny-looking cats, veterinarian assistant Jane Aviles posted a picture of a black and white cat with flattened ears.

Resembling the Jedi Master from Star Wars, the cute feline was bought into the Cabarrus Animal Hospital in North Carolina, by a rescue group.

Jane couldn’t help but snap a few pictures of the cutie and uploading it on Facebook.

She wrote that the adorable creature is currently being treated but needed a forever home as she is a stray.

Receiving thousands of likes and comments on the post, Jane reminded users that it’s all well and good commenting that they want this Yoda cat, but there are millions more like her.

‘There is only ONE Yoda cat, so there is only ONE home out there for her,’ she wrote.

‘So many people have offered to travel across the country to adopt this cat, and even people from other countries have reached out to me.’

Jane took the opportunity to point out how many other cats there are in need of homes.

She added: ‘There are 70 MILLION stray cats just in the US. Four MILLION cats are brought into animal control facilities each year, and 1.4 MILLION of those cats are euthanized each year due to lack of homes.

‘Everyone please check your local shelters. I guarantee you that your new best friend is waiting for you as I type this. Yoda cat may look cool, but looks aren’t everything.’

Jane has not since updated the post to reveal whether the kitty was adopted by someone but judging by the interest, hopefully she found someone in time for Christmas.
