The product is perfect for Brits who plan on having guests come over to their houses.

Alternatively, you can take it into the office as is completely portable.

The device is battery operated and uses an audio infrared sensor to detect when a hand is under the tap.

It claims to be a “safer way to sanitise hands” because it doesn’t involve pressing down on a pump.

The liquid is dispensed for three seconds – and when it’s done, you can rub your hands together and you’re good to go.

The product has proven popular since it launched.

On Facebook’s Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, snaps of it have garnered more than 1,000 likes.

One shopper gushed: “I need something like this! And one I can attach to the wall.”

Another said: “I have had one for years, they’re brilliant. Just add any soap.”

And a third added: “This would be handy to have in the house.”

It’s important for everyone to maintain a good level of personal hygiene during the coronavirus pandemic.

The doctor also pointed out that many forget to cover their thumbs and fingertips, which shouldn't be left out as these are highly used touch points on the body.
