Dad reveals wife is beating him and asks for help – but all goes wrong

A dad posted a heartbreaking appeal online after telling police his wife had been ‘beating him for a couple of years’.

The man, sharing his story anonymously on reddit, revealed he is an "abused" husband and has been so for a long time.

With her behaviour escalating, he says he went to the police and told them everything.

He then shared his devastating story on the social platform, asking fellow redditors for help and saying he was lonely and didn’t know where to turn next.

Relieved he had finally managed to do something about the toxic situation, he accepted that he was now a single dad to a two-year-old and a 15-year-old.

He appealed for somewhere to spend Thanksgiving with his children and people were only too happy to help.

But then his post took a horrible turn of events and anyone expecting a happy ending was sorely disappointed.

The man wrote: "I am an abused husband, yes we exist. My wife has been raging and hitting me for the last couple years… and it’s escalated. Yesterday she trashed my house, scratched me all up real good, all this in front of my daughter.

"Today I did the only thing I knew to do – I filed a police report for domestic battery. The police have issued a warrant for her and she’s going to be picked up at work shortly.

"So here I am, a 38-year-old single dad to a two-year-old toddler. I have a 15-year-old good girl who is frail and is probably seeing her last winter, and also have a two-year-old German Shepherd who is a handful."

He confessed he doesn’t really have any family at all and there’s nobody he can turn to in the state where he lives.

Then he appealed for any help with Thanksgiving dinner – saying the original plan was to go to his wife’s auntie’s house but that’s now ‘out of the question’.

He finished the post by confessing he’s lonely and that he’d appreciate any advice.

But then he added an ‘edit’ which produced an awful twist in his story.

The dad wrote: ‘Edit: because it’s Thanksgiving the domestic abuse charges won’t be filed until Monday. As result the police and CPS just let the woman who’s been beating me walk out of here with my daughter.

‘I have no idea where they’re going. I’m crushed, I never thought this would happen. I should have just took the ass whooping and not call the police.’

His words were so heartbreaking it received huge levels of attention on reddit and made it to the ‘front page’ of the site, where the most popular posts appear.

He returned to edit the post again, saying: "It’s weird that this made the front page. My shame for the whole world to see.

"I think I’ve read every comment and I appreciate all of them. CPS didn’t take my girl this morning, but they did allow my wife to take her despite everything.

"Don’t ever involve the police. Live with it or leave, but don’t ask for help if your a guy." (sic)
